Heather Roby

MSW Clinical Trainee

Heather Roby is a social work intern completing her clinical practicum. She currently attends St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in the Master of Social Work program. Heather has a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Wartburg College and a Master of Advocacy and Political Leadership from Metropolitan State University. Heather has a passion for minority health and reducing minority health disparities.

 

Heather currently works as an assessor for Hennepin County and MnChoices. She has experience in health education with adolescents, teaching sexual health curriculum at North High School in Minneapolis. Heather was also a health educator in Waterloo, Iowa, for five years. She also served on the Iowa HIV Community Planning Board for 4-years, representing African-American health disparities.  Heather also has experience in case management, working with ID/DD and mentally ill populations, and child welfare. Heather looks forward to her internship here at Village Support Therapy & Counseling in hopes of providing trauma-healing groups for the elderly in the area.
